EMSCULPT NEO is the first and only non-invasive body contouring method that helps eliminate fat cells and build muscle simultaneously, with a single 30-minute session (a series of 4 sessions once a week is recommended).
What makes EMSCULPT NEO unique is its versatility. We can treat patients with a body mass index (BMI) of up to 35. EMSCULPT NEO combines two energy forms, synchronized RF (radiofrequency) and HIFEM, allowing simultaneous fat removal and muscle building.
RF heats the muscles similarly to a warm-up before exercise, before HIFEM makes the muscles contract intensely. The muscles in the treated area contract so powerfully that a person could not achieve the same result on their own.
This non-surgical treatment can tighten, firm, and strengthen large muscle groups in the abdomen and buttocks, as well as smaller body areas such as the upper arms, thighs, and calves. The result is increased muscle mass and a reduced circumference. EMSCULPT NEO offers more fat reduction and muscle growth than any other product, and it does so faster and non-invasively.
EMSCULPT NEO is effective in the following areas: abdomen, back, buttocks, love handles, arms, and legs. Safety and effectiveness are guaranteed through clinical studies and it is approved by the FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration).
Clinical studies showed an average of 30% fat reduction and 25% muscle growth.
*EMSCULPT NEO can be combined with EMSELLA for Core to Floor therapy, which strengthens and tones the entire core – including abdominal and pelvic floor muscles. This combined therapy enhances core strength and balance while reducing incontinence and back pain.
“Finnish clinics using EMS devices claim it to be the most effective device for fat burning and muscle strengthening. Globally, this treatment is also known as EMSCULPT.” So, are EMS and EMSCULPT the same? Is it worth paying 3-4 times more for EMSCULPT NEO treatments?
EMS (known both as devices and as a technology) was popular in the last century and is still in use. EMS stimulates muscle tissues directly beneath the skin using electrical impulses, as the electrical current does not penetrate deep into the muscles. Gym workouts target all muscle layers, not just superficial ones, so EMS falls short in muscle mass growth. EMS is somewhat comparable to traditional muscle toning exercises and is suitable for recovery, rehabilitation, and improved circulation.
HIFEM technology, on which EMSCULPT is based, differs radically from the old EMS and is protected by numerous patents. EMSCULPT creates a magnetic field that reaches large nerves. While EMS stimulates only superficial muscles, EMSCULPT penetrates deep muscle layers. This explains its effectiveness for large muscle groups such as the abdomen and buttocks.
After four EMS sessions, little to no muscle growth is observed. Achieving this would require dozens of treatments, and not every customer has the patience or budget for that. There is no clinical evidence supporting EMS's effectiveness in fat burning.
For EMSCULPT, the situation is different. Eight weeks after the last session, you can expect an average of 16% muscle mass growth and 19% fat reduction in the treated area. These clinical studies were conducted in 2018 specifically for EMSCULPT certification by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The treatment effect continues for three months after the last session as the muscles keep growing and fat keeps decreasing.
The treatment is suitable for practically anyone who wants to strengthen their muscles, core, and achieve a more toned body while burning fat.
EMSCULPT NEO is an ideal solution as it suits patients with a BMI of up to 35, which is higher than most other non-invasive body contouring treatments.
This treatment is safe and suitable for all skin types.
This treatment is not recommended for individuals with metal implants in their body, such as copper IUDs or pacemakers, due to potential side effects.
Most patients need four 30-minute sessions, once a week, to achieve optimal results. Additional sessions after the initial four won't cause harm, but they might not produce significantly better results.
The best results are achieved by maintaining a healthy lifestyle after EMSCULPT NEO treatment, including regular exercise and returning for maintenance sessions annually.
In a multicenter study conducted by Dr. Kinney and BTL's medical advisor Dr. Carolyn Jacob, a medical surgeon in Chicago, patients who were initially dissatisfied with the shape of their buttocks reported an 85% improvement after four EMSCULPT NEO sessions, stating that their buttocks felt firmer and more lifted.
Dr. Jacob's study also showed that patients' waist circumference decreased by an average of 3.29 centimeters after four sessions. Three months later, their waistlines shrank even more: EMSCULPT NEO patients lost a total of 4.37 centimeters.
Clinical studies funded by BTL showed an average fat loss of 30% in the treated area, a muscle mass increase of 25%, and a waist circumference reduction of up to 5.9 centimeters one month after treatment. They also showed a 19% reduction in abdominal muscle separation, which benefits those suffering from diastasis recti.
Like other body contouring treatments, EMSCULPT NEO is not designed for weight loss. You can expect to see an average fat reduction of 30% with EMSCULPT NEO, but you probably won't see a change in your weight, as indicated by a 2019 study published in the Journal of Aesthetic & Reconstructive Surgery.
Individuals in relatively good shape may start to notice some improvements within a few days of their first session.
Final results may take even longer to appear, especially in areas with more fat. Building muscle takes time. We can't go to the gym once and claim to be toned and strong. Muscles develop over the coming months. The breakdown of fat cells, known as apoptosis, takes a few months.
Like other non-invasive treatment options, EMSCULPT NEO results are not permanent: they last as long as you maintain them with regular exercise (including strength training) and annual maintenance sessions.
EMSCULPT NEO has proven to be a very safe treatment. However, doctors recommend avoiding it if you are pregnant, have a pacemaker or other implanted electronic device near the treatment area, have heart issues, a history of seizures, or other medical conditions that could make the electromagnetic field unsafe for you.
Avoid EMSCULPT NEO if you have any metal in your body, such as a copper IUD or a hip implant, near the treatment area. The high-intensity focused electromagnetic energy of EMSCULPT NEO can heat the metal or dislodge it.
EMSCULPT NEO is the first and only non-invasive body contouring method that combines HIFEM and RF energies for simultaneous fat reduction and muscle building in a 30-minute session.
