EMSCULPT NEO – Three Effects at Once

- Reduces Fat: deep heating of fat tissue activates natural processes that reduce localized fat deposits.
- Builds Muscle Mass: stimulates intense muscle contractions, creating a workload that is difficult to achieve through regular exercise.
- Improves Body Contours: enhances overall shape and silhouette, creating a firmer and naturally more athletic appearance.
Clinically Proven Results
Average patient results 3 months after a treatment course (abdominal area):
30 %
reduction in fat tissue
26 %
increase in muscle mass
5.9 cm

EMSCULPT NEO vs. EMS Muscle Stimulators – What’s the Difference?

Two technologies work simultaneously
EMS uses only electrical muscle stimulation. EMSCULPT NEO combines two technologies: HIFEM+ for high-intensity electromagnetic muscle stimulation and synchronized radiofrequency (RF) energy to heat fat tissue.

The difference in fat reduction
EMS causes muscle contractions but does not affect fat tissue. EMSCULPT NEO heats fat cells up to 42°C, triggering their breakdown and natural elimination from the body.

Safety and FDA / CE Certification
Some EMS devices are certified for the prevention of muscle atrophy. EMSCULPT NEO has FDA clearance for non-invasive lipolysis, circumference reduction, and muscle strengthening of the abdomen, buttocks, thighs, calves, and arms.
Who Is EMSCULPT NEO Suitable For?

Women and men with reduced muscle tone

Patients undergoing a comprehensive weight loss program

Women after childbirth who want a firmer body

Individuals who do not achieve desired results through exercise alone

How My Treatments Went
On social media, the procedure is often described as comfortable and painless, but I understood that it wouldn’t be quite that simple. I had previously tried an EMS muscle stimulator, and even that wasn’t particularly pleasant. EMSCULPT NEO felt significantly more intense.
Nurse Helena Malder took my “before” photo and then asked me to lie down on the treatment bed. The device was secured firmly around my abdomen with a strap. The procedure consists of two repeating phases: a muscle contraction phase and a recovery phase. The intensity can be adjusted according to your comfort level.
My Experience
During the 30-minute session, radiofrequency energy heats the tissues. The warmth feels like a deep heating — not burning, but more like warming up before a workout.
The contraction phase is the most noticeable part. The muscles contract powerfully, almost as if they are being pulled inward. During the recovery phase, the device delivers tapping impulses that help reduce muscle fatigue and minimize next-day discomfort.
At times it was challenging, especially at higher intensity levels, but the recovery phases provide short breaks, and the rhythm of the treatment quickly becomes predictable. With each session, tolerating the intensity became easier.
Results and How Long They Last
After four treatments, I started to feel noticeably stronger. Six weeks after the fourth session, my abdomen looked significantly firmer, and my waist circumference had decreased by nearly 5 cm.
Dr. Larissa Koivuniemi explained that fat reduction can continue for up to six months after completing the treatment course. Results may last up to a year, after which a maintenance treatment is recommended.
Frequently Asked Questions
No, it is not about lowering the number on the scale. EMSCULPT NEO helps reduce localized fat deposits and strengthen muscles, so the most noticeable changes are usually in body contour, firmness, and measurements rather than overall weight. The treatment works best alongside a weight loss program to further enhance shape and muscle definition.
Yes. The procedure is not only for those with excess weight. Even at a normal weight, there may be areas that are difficult to improve through exercise alone (such as the lower abdomen or flanks). In these cases, EMSCULPT NEO can help create firmer contours and highlight muscle definition.
Yes. The procedure is not performed if you:
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have a pacemaker or other electronic implant
- Have metal implants near the treatment area
- Have active skin infections or open wounds in the treatment area
No special preparation is required. Recommendations are simple:
- Do not apply cream or oil to the treatment area on the day of the procedure.
- Wear clothing that can be easily moved or lifted, as the applicators are placed directly on the skin.
- Inform us in advance if you have implants, metal in your body, or any health-related concerns that may be relevant to the treatment.
You can return to your normal daily activities immediately after the procedure. Some people may experience mild muscle soreness the next day, similar to the feeling after a good workout, but it usually resolves quickly.
Yes. Most patients continue their regular training during the treatment course. Many notice that after the procedures it becomes easier to perform exercises targeting the abdomen or glutes, as the muscles feel stronger and tolerate load better.
With a stable weight and an active lifestyle, results can last for a long time. To maintain the outcome, many patients choose to have a maintenance treatment once a year.
